E5 Weighted Airman Promotion System (WAPS) Testing Practice Exam

Weights in WAPS scoring decide how much each part of the promotion process contributes to your final score. Each component—EPR, PFE, and SKT—measures a different aspect of readiness, and the weighting scheme assigns more or less influence to each one. This means the final score is a weighted sum, not a simple average, so doing well on the higher-weighted parts can have a bigger impact on your promotion chances than performing equally across all parts. The weights are applied to all components, not just to the SKT, and they are not identical, so the relative importance of EPR, PFE, and SKT can shift how the final score is built.
